Technical Institutes

Indeed, the need of Technical Education for the people of this region is the main reason for the birth of this society. The HKE Society started with the establishment of "Engineering College, Gulbarga" in 1958 and then re-named as Poojya Doddappa Appa College of Engineering, Kalaburagi. It was the first seed for the gigantic Banyan tree by name HKE Society, Kalaburagi. The main focus of HKE Society is, academic and vocational preparation of students for jobs involving applied science and modern technology in technical education. The technical education at HKE Society's institutions emphasizes the understanding and practical application of basic principles of science and mathematics. HKE Society has established two engineering colleges, three polytechnic colleges and three ITI colleges. These institutions are well equipped and spread out not only in cities but in rural places too. HKE Society since its inception is keen enough in providing technical education to the rural aspirants by opening ITIs at taluka and villages.

The technical institutions of HKE Society are constantly engaged in industry-institute interactions and trying to level the quality of technical education to the needs of industry for better placement opportunities for its students. Poojya Doddappa Appa College of Engineering affiliated to VTU, Belgaum is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) twice and now it has gained Autonomous status. Now this institute has adopted the syllabus by acquiring the suggestions from industry experts as board of study members. Students are visiting industries for industrial training as part of their academic activity.

The main motto of technical education of HKE Society is, "Empower the youth by quality education".
